I was disappointed to find
"I was disappointed to find these are only magnetic in the sense that they are metal and magnets will stick to them. I was expecting something that would magnetically stick to metal surfaces. What I got was a metal tray and a piece of magnetic tape. Since both the intended surface and the tray are white, I don't want to stick a big piece of black tape on them. Luckily it sticks just fine with regular flat magnets in between, and this is a flexible solution. I don't see the point of using magnetic tape with glue."

One thing to keep in mind: it is designed for keys and light essentials. If you try to put very heavy items on the tray or hang a massive set of tools, the magnets might slide, but for its intended use, it’s absolutely perfect.
