Beautiful but lacking Yamazaki quality

"I love the breadbox but within 10 minutes of opening it, the cutting board split in two since it seems to be synthetic wood and easily split right along a seam. Yamazaki was quick to replace it free of charge and it's been working well since, so I might have just gotten a fluke."
